A pilot poses on her PI-44 Banshee interceptor in the early morning light....

It's been a while since I've dabbled in my art, but the Banshee design was intriguing enough to pull me back in. It started as a simple 3D shape (a skewed ellipsoid) and grew rather organicly from there. I made extensive use of a greeble pack I had on hand for much of the detailed components, but the larger pieces were created from scratch. The pilot was added later to provide a point of interest (nothing says sci fi like a woman in a skimpy uniform ;-) She's based on DAZ's Victoria 2 figure, since my human-creating skills are still a work-in-progress.

I used Ozone for the sky and lighting, but the sky itself seemed out of place, and a cityscape in the background was too distracting from the Banshee and pilot. I settled on a simple gradient background for more of an illustration style.

The image is just about straight from Cinema 4D, with some minor touch-ups and contrast corrections. Enjoy!
